CLUB TIUANA 3-0 LEONES NEGROS (FINAL)

TIJUANA –Club Tijuana Xoloitzcuintles de Caliente’s Under-20 team beat visiting Leones Negros de la Universidad de Guadalajara 3-0 in a Week 7 match of the youth national tournament Friday at Estadio Caliente.

Jose Alberto Garcia (31st minute), Javier Salas (67th) and Amando Moreno (75th) scored for the Xoloitzcuintles.

Garcia opened up the scoring in the 31st minute off a run into the box, beating Leones goalkeeper Felipe Lopez with his left foot. 

Salas notched Club Tijuana's second of the game in the 67th minute after finding space in the box on a central pass after Moreno's attempt on goal was skied. 

Moreno was at it again seven minutes later when he broke left from the right side to make a central run toward the Leones’ goal, drawing a penalty directly in the center of the 18-yard box. He stepped up to take the penalty and converted, sealing the win for the home team. 

Leones Negros forced a few turnovers and when on the counter attack had a few opportunities on Xoloitzcuintles goalkeeper Dilan Nicoletti. But the visiting team’s shots were mostlty off target.

The Xoloitzcuintles U-20 squad, coached by Raul Chabrand Manrique, is in 6th place in the table with a 3-0-4 record and nine points. Club Tijuana will get a one week break in the schedule before traveling in Week 8 to face Pachuca's U-20's on Saturday Sept. 13.
