GUZMAN DREAMS BIG

The Xoloitzcuintle manager sees himself in the playoffs and fighting for the Clausura 2015 title.

TIJUANA - It is Daniel Guzman's professional and personal believe that Club Tijuana Xoloitzcuitles de Caliente will be in the playoffs and fighting for the Clausura 2015 league title. The 49 year old manager relishes the opportunity to be in an institution which shares his same believes of where the team can be in six months time.

"It is my dream. I was fortunate to be champion in 2008" said 'Travieso' Guzman  “And I want to cap-off the great effort and sacrifice that this Xolos team has done by giving them another championship. They, like me were already champions once, this makes us very similar and compatible. And when there is compatibility and when there is a special connection it is reflected throughout the club. I hope we have that connection in every part of the team."

After finishing his first season in charge of the club Guzman made an analysis of his team. He highlighted the professionalism and effort given on a daily basis as well as the ability to adapt to the tactical discipline since the moment he arrived.

"After being here two and a half months now more than ever I am aware of the expectations of this club." Explained the manager "I knew them before but today I emphasize them even more. We have to work harder, we have to work on the small details, we have to unify criteria, we have to implement objectives and goals that we have to reach from the first day of training in order to qualify into the playoffs next season."

One of the aspects that Guzman wants to continue doing is the continued participation from the younger players once they have all join the team in preseason. Seeing them in action will permit him to detect their level and help him build a solid group full of experienced leadership and young talent assured the Xoloitzcuintles manager.

"I see that a lot of resources are spent on the boys from the youth academy here" said Daniel Guzman "and I am very passionate about giving young players full of talent and hunger that chance to prove themselves in first division."

In the search for another championship at Club Tijuana; everyone walking in the same direction will be fundamental. That is why Daniel Guzman asks that the fans join in the dream and that their support from the stands be in the team's impulse to jump onto the field each and every week.

XOLOITZCUINTLE PRESEASON CONTINUES

The second day of preseason continued with player medical exams in the laboratory. The coaching staff had the team go through a series of drills to work on mobility and physical resistance as well as some aerobics. The day finished with a little bit of soccer in reduced spaces.

This Wednesday Club Tijuana will return to the Estadio Caliente to complete the physical and medical exams before flying to Mazatlan, Sinaloa where the beach portion of preseason will take place from the 11th through the 23rd of December.
