SAN DIEGO –Club Tijuana Xoloitzcuintles de Caliente was part of the “Celebracion de Mayo 2014” event at the Jacobs Center in San Diego Sunday May 18 as the team continues to commit to being close with its community.

The Xoloitzcuintles were well represented at the event featuring a handful o organizations and businesses celebrating Mexican heritage in the month of May in correlation with Cinco de Mayo. The team mascot “Xolo Mayor” was there to mingle with the more than 500 people in attendance and spark a lively atmosphere at the event.

The Xolo Mayor posed for photos with adults and children and danced on stage with some of the local bands performing at the celebration. The mascot encouraged the crowd to get up and dance to the sounds of a Mexican “Norteño” band.

The event included raffles and giveaways by a handful of local radio stations and a local television channel along with local organizations promoting deals and events geared towards the Latino community. The event also included a local Baile Folklorico performance by students from a local school.

Club Tijuana’s participation in this event is more proof that the team continues to show commitment and social responsibility for the community and its fans on both sides of the border.
