Club Tijuana arrived in Mexico City
MEXICO CITY –Club Tijuana Xoloitzcuintles de Caliente arrived in Mexico City Friday July 25 in great spirits and a positive attitude after training on the field next to Estadio Caliente earlier in the day. The Xoloitzcuintles made the trip for its Week 2 match of the LIGA Bancomer MX-2014 Apertura against Club America (3 p.m. Pacific) at Estadio Azteca.
It will be the Xoloitzcuintles first road match of the season and the second for Farias against the Mexico City club. Cristian Pellerano scored the game-winning goal in the 87th minute at Estadio Caliente Jan. 10.
Farias spoke with the media upon the team’s arrival in the nation’s capital and said he feels confident his team has what it takes to get a good result. He said the team should begin adding points in the standings.
“America is an opponent that forces some things but we will do the best we can to impose some things on you,” Farias said. “But regardless we are hoping to come back with the win.”
Club Tijuana goalkeeper Cirilo Saucedo is confident in what the team has been doing helpful.
UNDER-20 TEAM IN COAPA
The Under-20 team that beat Puebla 3-1 last week will face America’s U-20 team at 10:30 p.m. (Pacific) at the COAPA facilities.

The Xoloitzcuintles have faced Club America in six official matches. The series between both teams tied 2-2-2 against America in official matches. Both teams have also played each other in three friendly games. In those exhibition games, Club Tijuana is 1-0-2 against America.
