Club América 2-1 Club Tijuana (FINAL)

LIGA BANCOMER MX-2014 APERTURA; WEEK 2

MEXICO CITY –Club Tijuana Xoloitzcuintles de Caliente allowed two second half goals in a 2-1 loss to host Club America in a Week 2 match of the LIGA Bancomer MX-2014 at Estadio Azteca.


The Xoloitzcuintles took the lead when Juan Arango scored in the 19th minute off a penalty kick. Arango contiued to threaten the Club America goal with a couple of shots that were just off target in the first half.  


In the second half, Dario Benedetto entered the match in the 52th minute as a substitute for Henry Martin.  In the 65th minute, Elio Castro of Club Tijuana was awarded a yellow card. Raul Jiminez quickly responded with a goal in the 67th minute to tie the match 1-1. Pablo Aguilar scored with a header in additional time to give Club America the game winning point, ending the match 2-1. 


The Xoloitzcuintles will return to Estado Caliente July 29 to face Zacatepec in a Week 3 match at 7 p.m. (Pacific)
