XOLOITZCUINTLES UNDER-20 TIE IN PACHUCA
Club Tijuana 2-2 Pachuca FC; Garcia scores twice for Xoloitzcuintles
PACHUCA, Mexico- Club Tijuana Xoloitzcuintles de Caliente’s Under-20 squad played to a 2-2 tie against host Pachuca FC’s U-20 team in a Week 8 match of the National Youth Tournament Saturday Sept. 13 at Estadio Hidalgo.
Jose Alberto Garcia scored twice in the first half (11th and 29th minute) for Club Tijuana, giving coach Raul Chabrand’s team a 2-1 lead heading into halftime.
Pachuca answered with goals by Jurgüen Damm (21st) and Steven Almeida (52nd).
The Xoloitzcuintles gained a point in the standings with the tie. Club Tijuana has 10 points with a 3-4-1 record, good enough for the No. 12 spot heading into the remainder of the weekend.
Club Tijuana’s Under-20 will now return home to host Santos Laguna in a Week 9 match at Estadio Caliente Friday Sept. 20.
