XOLOITZCUINTLES CLOSES OUT PARTICIPATION IN U-15 TOURNAMENT
Club Tijuana loses 6-5 against Tigres in a penalty shoutout in the Round of 16
Club Tijuana Xoloitzcuintles de Caliente's Under-15 bowed out of the National Youth Tournament after falling to Tigres 6-5 in a penalty shoutout during the Round of 16 in Mexico City's Centro de Alto Rendimineto (CAR).
The team lead by Idelfonso Mendoza finishes a positive participation after having won 6 points during the group stage and qualifying for the knockout rounds.
The first half of the match was dominated by the Xoloitzcuintles. Tijuana took the lead through a Cesar Rosales shot in the 18th minute.
Tigres would tie the game early in the second half through Miguel Rodriguez in the 49th minute.
Regulation time ended with both teams level on one goal each and the series was settled in a penalty shoutout which ended in Tigres' favor 6-5.
