XOLOITZCUINTLES TIE VS. CRUZEIRO
Club Tijuana finished in 2015 Copa Chivas
GUADALAJARA, MEXICO –Club Tijuana played to a 1-1 tie against Cruzeiro of Brazil Tuesday in a Group A match of the 2015 Copa Chivas. Mathews Gomes scored for the Xoloitzcuintles on a filtered pass by Juan Rodriguez. Gabriel Mendez tied the match for Cruzeiro in the 55th minute via a penalty kick.
Coach Marco Marroquin’s team finished group play with finished with five points with a 1-1-2 record in a group that included Universidad Catolica of Chile, Monarcas Morelia of Mexico, the United States National Team and Cruzeiro. The five points were not enough to put the Xoloitzcuintles into the next round of the Under-18 international tournament.
Club Tijuana Copa Chivas players will return to home and incorporate with their respective teams and join them for preparations to face Jaguares de Chiapas in LIGA MX action Friday Feb. 6.
