IT IS JUST ONE MORE CHALLENGE: JUAN CARLOS NUÑEZ

TIJUANA, Mexico - Club Tijuana Xoloitzcuintles prepares for its Week 11 match against Cruz Azul. Defender Juan Carlos Nuñez recognizes that it will be a tough match but is confident that a positive result is obtainable in Mexico City.

“It is a complicated team (Cruz Azul),” said Juan Carlos Nuñez following Monday’s evening practice at the Estadio Caliente “They become even more complicated at home. But the squad has been doing thing right so far.”

The Xoloitzcuintles will look for its first ever win at the Estadio Azul. It is still one of the few venues left to conquer.

“We just need to go into this the same way we have every other game this season,” said Nuñez. “Every game is different. Whatever happened in the past is the past. This is a new story, a new game for us. Just one more challenge.”

Club Tijuana is currently on a nine game unbeaten streak winning seven of those matches. Nuñez believes that the Xoloitzcuintles just needs to follow along the same path in order to be successful at the Estadio Azul.

“The team is working very well,” mentioned Nuñez. “We have done things correctly this season and there is no reason to change any of that. That is why we are in first place we just need to keep the same mentality.”

With the team doing as well as its doing it is only natural for its players to be considered for National Team duties. Although, Nuñez does not let that thought overwhelm him.

“I think that is the job of the National Team manager,” explained Nuñez. “We just need to keep on working the way we have been so far.”
