CLUB TIJUANA 4-0 CD GUADALAJARA (FINAL)
LIGA MX-2013 Clausura; Week 17
TIJUANA –Club Tijuana Xoloitzcuintles de Caliente finished the LIGA MX-2013 Clausura tournament with a 4-0 win against visiting CD Guadalajara in a Week 17 match at Estadio Caliente.
All Club Tijuana’s goals came in the first half of a match against one of Mexico’s more popular and historic clubs.
Bruno Piceno (20th minute), Duvier Riascos (32nd), Richard Ruiz (42nd) and Fidel Martinez (Injury time) scored for the Xoloitzcuintles in the first half. Piceno’s goal was his first in the Mexican First Division.
The Xoloitzcuintles (6-8-3) finished the tournament with 21 points after coming into this match as the No. 11 team in the league standings and already been mathematically eliminated from playoff contention.
Club Tijuana was also coming off a 1-0 loss to San Luis FC last week in LIGA MX action and a scoreless draw at home against Palmeiras of Brazil in 2013 Copa Libertadores Bridgestone Round of 16 first leg action.
Coach Antonio Mohamed’s team will continue to play in the 2013 Copa Bridgestone Libertadores with a Round of 16 match in Sao Paulo, Brazil May 14 against Palmeiras in the second leg of the series.
