XOLOITZCUINTLES NEED TO BE AMONG THE LEAGUE LEADERS SAYS DAYRO MORENO

The Colombian forward wants to play the playoffs

MAZATLAN - Like if he was participating in his first preseason camp, Dayro Moreno gives 100% effort. He runs at full speed, tries to perfect every moment of every exercise and leaves the last drop of sweat like if it were an official match.

The Colombian wants to take advantage of every moment of the preseason camp to be fully prepared for the Apertura 2015 season which he is taking as a second chance to fulfil objectives. He wants to play the playoffs with the Xoloitzcuintles jersey as well as reach some personal goals, among them to keep his spot in the starting lineup.

“In a personal level I ended last season on good form,” Moreno said from the preseason camp in MAzatlan, Sinaloa. “...scoring goals but I want to score more than 10 goals per season. That’s why I am preparing even more than last season so that I can increment the goal count for the team. We have to be among the league leaders, play in the playoffs and fight for another title here at Xolos.”

Nine players have been added to the Club Tijuana roster this offseason who come here ready to help with their experience and talent. But above all they come to build a strong team.

“The players that arrived this season are very important,” mentioned Moreno. “They come here to help the team out and the ones who have been here we have to integrate them and build a family. A family that fights for a common objective.”

With two days left in the preseason camp in Mazatlan, Sinaloa Dayro Moreno believes that the team has worked very well and that it will reached the opening week in optimal conditions.

“We have worked very intensely,” explained Moreno “We know that this will help us achieve our goals, to help us reach the beginning of the season in good shape. Every training session the teammates and I work very hard so that come game time we can leave it all on the field. Being prepared is the most important thing right now. We have to work out physically.”

Just like last season Moreno expects the Tijuana fans to fill up the Estadio Caliente in black and red and make it a real fortress.

“I am preparing very well so that I can leave it all on the field, running and scoring goals. The fans have always treated me well. I’ve always felt their support inside and out of the field and that to a player is really important.”
