XOLOITZCUINTLES TO PLAY IN LOS ANGELES CLASICO
Club Tijuana Faces Club América Dec. 28, 5 p.m. at The Stub Hub Center
TIJUANA and Carson, Calif. - (October 23, 2013) –Club Tijuana Xoloitzcuintles de Caliente is taking its team across the border into Southern California for a friendly match against Club America in the Los Angeles Clasico.
Xoloitzcuintles fans will get a chance to see Club Tijuana on Saturday Dec.28, 2013 when the club takes on the 2013 Clausura champion at the Stub Hub Center. The game will kick off at 5 p.m.

The Xoloitzcuintles, also known as the “Xolos” for short, are participating in the CONCACAF Champions League international tournament, reaching the quarterfinals.
Club Tijuana also competed in the prestigious Copa Bridgestone Libertadores where it reached the quarterfinals in the South American competition. The Xoloitzcuintles are the LIGA MX-2012 Apertura champions, beating CD Toluca (4-1 Aggregate score) in the championship final home-and-home series in December of 2012. Club Tijuana is the fastest team to win a First Division title since being promoted to the top circuit in May of 2011.
Club America is the latest Mexican League champion, winning the 2013 Clausura title in May. Club America is also one of Mexico’s most popular and oldest clubs. The Xoloitzcuintles and America have previously met in Southern California during the last two San Diego Clasicos, the first a 1-1 draw in June 30, 2012 at Qualcomm Stadium.
