Daniel Guzman analyzes possibilities against Leon

TIJUANA –Club Tijuana Xoloitzcuintles de Caliente didn’t qualify to the post season but that is not keeping the team from working hard at practice. That is why coach Daniel Guzman’s team continues to prepare with focus for its upcoming match against Leon so that it can give the always-supportive fans a win to close the season.


The team has kept the same intensity during the latest practices. The team went through a warm up session and some speed drills during Thursday’s practice. The Xoloitzcuintles then workedon some tactical drills as Guzman analyzes what could be some changes to the starting line up against Leon. Guzman will not have Cristian Pellerano who will serve a red card suspension. Gregory Garza and Juan Arango are with their respective national teams.


Club Tijuana also held intersquad scrimmages for two hours Thursday on the main field at Estadio Caliente. Alejandro Molina, Elio Castro and Luis Chavez were part of the first half.


Oliver Ortiz and Edgar Villegas come on for the second half and joined Cirilo Saucedo, Javier Gandolfi, Elio Castro, Juan Carlos Nuñez, Israel Jimenez, Richard Ruiz, Javier Guemez, Dayro Moreno and Dario Benedetto.


Hernan Pellerano left early after an apparent muscular injury. Castro filled in for Hernan Pellerano in the first half while Ortiz took his place in the second.   


Club Tijuana returns to practice at Estadio Caliente Friday at 9 a.m.
